Her Friday, March 8, 2024the day of the passing of the bill for non-state universities, ADEDY calls for participation in the pan-Hellenic-universal education march in Synagma Square demanding that this unconstitutional law not be passed, as it emphasizes in its announcement.

Also, ADEDY participates in the strike for International Women’s Day on March 8, 2024 with a work stoppage from 11:00 am until the end of working hours.

In addition, OLME announces a 3-hour work stoppage from 8-11am in addition to the Work Stoppage (11am as the end of hours) that ADEDY has announced in honor of Women’s Day, inviting you to participate en masse in the strike and the rallies that have been organized (For Athens: at 12.00 in Klathmonos Square for the Women’s Day events and at 1:00 PM in the Propylaia against the passing of the bill).

Finally, POSEEPEA declares a Work Stoppage on Friday, March 8, 08:00 – 11:00 a.m. in addition to the decision of ADEDY for a work stoppage from 11:00 am until the end of working hours, to facilitate the participation of EEP-EBP members in the nationwide rally of student unions, workers and students with a joint request to withdraw the bill for non-state universities.

Joining the International Women’s Day strike on March 8, 2024 – Expressing our opposition to the unconstitutional bill to establish private universities

Friday, March 8, 12 noon, Klathmonos Square

A.D.E.D.Y. along with the timeless demands of March 8, equal pay for equal work, equal opportunities for women and men, for 2024 she dedicated International Women’s Day to the women of Palestine. We call for a ceasefire, safe passage for humanitarian aid, the release of hostages and prisoners, rejection of the displacement of Palestinians from Gaza and an end to this conflict.

This year, the Executive Committee of A.D.E.D.Y., includes in the context of the mobilization of March 8 and the work stoppage from 11:00 am until the end of working hours and the mass expression of opposition to the unconstitutional bill for the establishment of private universities.

We invite you on Friday, March 8, 2024, the day of the passing of the bill, to join the pan-Hellenic – pan-educational march and to remain with them in Synagma Square demanding that this unconstitutional law not be passed.

We call for the support of civil servants to be expressed in the struggle of all Student Unions and all bodies of the academic and educational community, students, labor unions and the whole society so that private universities and the further dissolution of free public education do not pass.

We support the demands of the Student Unions, because Education is the business of all the people.

24-hour strike on March 8 against the passage of the private universities bill

On March 8, the government’s bill for the establishment of private universities is voted in Parliament. The Board of Directors of OLME again expresses its unanimous opposition to this bill and announces a 3-hour work stoppage 8-11am in addition to the work stoppage (11am as the end of hours) announced by ADEDY in honor of Women’s Day.

Covering evening schools for the 24-hour strike on March 8

LABOR ATTITUDE AGAINST N/S FOR PRIVATE UNIVERSITIES

The Board of Directors of POSEEPEA declares a work stoppage on Friday, March 8, 08:00 – 11:00 a.m. in addition to the ADEDY decision for a work stoppage from 11:00 am until the end of working hours, to facilitate the participation of EEP-EBP colleagues in the nationwide student rally unions, workers and students with a common request to withdraw the reactionary bill that is passed on the same day further dismantling what is left of free public education. We support the requests of the Student Unions and all the bodies of the academic and educational community, because education is the business of all the people.
