A sigh of relief expelled into the corridors of Matignon, as in the ranks of the government. While the oppositions and the unions promised a “Black Tuesday”, a “France at a standstill” with blockades throughout the country, the scale of the movement – certainly important with 1.3 million demonstrators according to the Interior, and a sustained mobilization in the medium-sized towns –, however, remained to be put into perspective on the side of the executive.
