El Hadj Mamadou Bano Bah, Caliph General of Fouta was buried this Thursday, October 5, 2023 in Pita, a prefecture located approximately 400 kilometers from Conakry.
The funeral of this highly respected moral personality was attended by several senior officials of the country. There was Dr Dansa Kourouma, president of the national transition council (CNT); Ousmane Gaoual Diallo, Minister of Posts and Telecommunications who is also government spokesperson; Mamadou Péthé Diallo, Minister of Health; Bachir Diallo, Minister of Security and Civil Protection; Mory Condé, Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization; El hadj Karamo Diawara, Minister Secretary General of Religious Affairs.
A huge crowd came from all walks of life to attend the funeral of the Caliph who died on October 2 following illness at the age of 87.
El Hadj Bano Bah leaves behind three widows and six children.
