The Jumbo Float Restaurant, a symbol of Hong Kong for the past 44 years, has sunk into the sea.
The restaurant was closed in 2020 due to the Corona freeze. Investors continued to suffer losses due to the high cost of maintaining the restaurant even when it was inactive.
Subsequently, the floating restaurant was towed from the Hong Kong Sea area to another area with lower maintenance costs last Tuesday. At this point, it sank near the Basel Islands in the South China Sea due to bad weather. The restaurant said no one was injured.
