Subscriber record, growth… Netflix’s transformation is bearing fruit

With thirteen million additional subscribers in the last quarter and a diversification of its revenues, the American streaming platform is displaying its newfound power in the world of streaming.

Netflix’s transformation is paying off. The world leader in video on demand reports, for the last quarter of 2023, its strongest growth since the pandemic. With 13.1 million new subscribers, the platform exceeds the hopes of Wall Street and shatters the record recorded over the same period at the end of 2022, with an increase of 7.7 million.

Netflix now has more than 260 million subscribers worldwide. The performance boosts the optimism of its shareholders. In the minutes following the announcement of Netflix’s quarterly results on Tuesday evening, the stock jumped nearly 8%. In one year, Netflix’s price increased by 38%.

The surge this Tuesday evening gives the giant from Los Gatos (California) a market capitalization of more than 215 billion dollars, or some 25% more than Disney, number one in communications.
