Sultan Bathery: Students shine at District School Festival

Sultan Bathery sub-district students showcased their incredible talent at the 42nd District School Festival T sub-district and emerged as winners with an impressive 967 marks. The festival saw participation from various sub-districts, with Sultan Bathery securing the top spot. Following closely behind was Sultan Bathery sub-district with 948 points, and Vaithiri sub-district with 930 points.

In the high school category, Mananthavadi and Sultan Bathery sub-districts claimed the first position, with Upazila securing the second position. Sultan Bathery sub-district also clinched the first position in the UP division, with Mananthwadi sub-district coming in second. In the higher secondary section, Vythiri sub-district and Sultan Bathery sub-district took the first and second positions, respectively.

A total of 3,296 children participated in the four-day Kalotsavam, which featured competitions at eight different venues. Schools such as Sarvajana Vocational Higher Secondary School, St. Joseph’s English Secondary School, Kaipancheri GLP School, Diet, and Prateeksha Youth Se showcased their talent at the festival.

The Closing Conference of the festival was inaugurated by Zilla Panchayat President Samshad Marakar, while Municipal Chairman T.K. Ramesh presided over the event.

The festival also received a special guest in the form of Rahul Gandhi MP, who arrived to witness the incredible display of talent by the district’s students. The MP visited the Sarvajana School, the main venue of Kalotsavam, and expressed his excitement to witness the various competitions, including the duff mutt, Arabanamut, and Thiruvathira contests.

“Festivals bring together different cultures and languages,” said the MP as he watched the students compete with enthusiasm.

The district school festival was a true testament to the talent and creativity of the students, and it served as a platform for them to celebrate their diverse cultural heritage.
