Sumi’s life came to a standstill due to worries about the food and drink of her children and her husband’s treatment. Then it occurred to him that he must fight for his children. It is not possible to pull such a big family from house to house work. So Sumi decided to drive an autorickshaw. Autorickshaw in Sumi’s hands today for the children. As soon as the wheel turns, the family gets food, everyone smiles. Although his hands trembled with fear at first, he managed everything in time.
While walking on the road, he digested the harsh words of the rickshaw pullers and the negligence of the people, thinking about the future of his children. Maybe if it stops, it will be closed in the wheel of the world. Sun, rain left behind all the obstacles and Sumi’s will power was victorious. Her husband’s treatment, children’s education is going on in some way with her earnings. Dream a lot. But if the affluent society wants an auto rickshaw of his own, he might be able to move better. Currently, the autorickshaw owner has to pay a large part of what he earns.
Sumi lives with her husband, children and mother-in-law in Nandipara area of Khilgaon by renting a small house. Every morning he wakes up and goes out after doing some household chores. Return at night. Sumi is running from the main roads of Khilgaon, Jatrabari, Old Dhaka to Oligli. Husband is sick. The responsibility of seven people is on him.
This reporter talked to this struggling woman. Sumi says husband is sick, can’t work. Still tried. Work makes you sicker. That’s why I had to go to the streets. If you don’t work, you don’t get food. Earlier I used to work at home. I was injured in a bus accident. That pain still remains in the body. can’t work The pain worsens.
Have you been the victim of sarcasm while driving an autorickshaw? When asked, he said, ‘I have not faced any problem. But the rickshaw pullers often speak many languages. Sometimes there is anger. Still don’t say anything. Work must be done. Otherwise, the people of the world will not eat. If the wheel of the autorickshaw turns, the family will run.’
Sumi said, a family of seven. Before, there was always scarcity in the world. Children have to be human. Boys and girls are studying. They have to pay school fees, private salaries.
He said that a woman only goes on the road to drive an auto. Does anyone want to leave home and come to the street? forced I don’t have my own car. Drive for rent. 300 to 3.500 taka has to be deposited daily. I might have lived better if I had my own auto.
Sumi’s husband Farhad said, I have a problem in my head. Working in the sun makes me dizzy. I have seen the doctor, he says it will not be good. Can’t work properly. If you don’t work, you don’t have a family. I help her (wife) as much as I can. But now he runs the family. I live at home. Take care of children. After my wife started driving autos, poverty in the family decreased.
