MONTESILVANO. The billboard of Montesilvano summer events begins to take shape. Over a hundred proposals arrived in the city palace in just over a month as part of the public announcement for the search for individuals, associations and companies that intend to organize events, exhibitions and shows. To make it known is the councilor for tourism Deborah Comardi which in these days is examining all the various initiatives useful for composing the calendar of summer events.
A program that, despite the Covid restrictions, promises to be rich considering that the mayor’s council also for the 2021 bathing season Ottavio De Martinis has decided to allocate the sum of 60 thousand euros to evening entertainment for residents and tourists. But what will be the events scheduled during the second summer in time of Covid in Montesilvano? “For the moment it is still early to name names or announce dates,” says the commissioner. «As explained at the beginning of February, when we published the launch for the expression of interest, we communicated that the possibility of presenting proposals would be open until the drafting of the definitive bill that we plan to close by the month of May. For this reason, anyone interested can easily submit their application using the model on the home page of the website of the Municipality of Montesilvano ». The commissioner, however, reveals in a general way the content of the more than one hundred questions arrived on his desk in Piazza Diaz and sent by artists, associations and companies mainly from Abruzzo, even if there is no lack of applications from outside the region, such as from Rome or the Marche. : «Up to now, most of the proposals refer to forms of musical entertainment with small groups», he underlines. “These are therefore initiatives perfectly in line with the kind of events that, starting from last year, we decided to promote to ensure moments of leisure for tourists and Montesilvanese, but in total safety”. As for musical genres, «the proposals embrace almost all genres, ranging from jazz to soul, passing through pop or folk. For us it is important that the initiatives are as varied as possible to meet everyone’s musical tastes ». Moreover, among the hundred proposals, those of the municipal music school are not counted, which, this year too, will prepare a calendar thanks to the collaboration of its teachers. The stages set up by the municipal administration to animate the Montesilvanese evenings along the pedestrian area will be hosted by the two piers of viale Europa and via Petrarca, and largo Venezuela. Also confirmed for 2021, the walks to discover the historic village in the presence of tourist guides who will reveal places of interest and curiosities.
