Nintendo may not be providing new content for Super Mario Bros. Wonder, but modders are stepping in to add some fresh and exciting changes to the game on the Nintendo Switch.
One notable mod created by ‘Dytser’ is the “Women of Wonder” mod, which introduces Rosalina, a character from the Super Mario Galaxy series, into the game. This mod replaces the Blue Toad with Rosalina, giving her unique transformations, replacing the Glide Cap with Luma, revamped audio to match her character, and themed icons throughout the game.
The mod’s description reads, “Rosalina joins the adventure: Experience the magic of Rosalina as she takes center stage in a 2D Mario for the first time. From her iconic celestial abilities to her elegant demeanor, Rosalina adds a touch of wonder to your gameplay.”
The mod creators also have plans to replace Yellow Toad with Pauline in the future, although it’s important to note that these are not official updates from Nintendo and require modding the game.
This addition to the game raises the question of whether players would like to see Nintendo officially add more playable characters to Super Mario Bros. Wonder in the future.
