The Brazilian army has postponed for 60 days the conclusion of a deal to purchase 36 self-propelled artillery units (self-propelled guns) produced by the Israeli company Elbit System, which won the tender, beating manufacturers from France, China and Slovenia.

The $145 million deal was delayed due to opposition from Brazilian public figures who demanded a halt to trade with our companies due to Israel’s non-compliance with UN Security Council decisions regarding the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

According to plans, Elbit was to transfer two Atmos samples to the Brazilian army for two years of testing. Upon their completion, it was planned to sign the final contract for the supply of the remaining 34 self-propelled artillery units (self-propelled guns) to the country. But currently the signing of the contract has been postponed for two months.

Note that Atmos systems are designed to provide firepower and support to ground forces. They provide high mobility and can operate in various combat conditions. Such systems are widely used by various armies around the world.

“Cursor” wrote earlier that the Israeli company Elbit Systems Ltd. signed a new contract worth $37 million. According to the terms of the deal, the company will modernize American Bradley M2A4E1 infantry fighting vehicles.
