Rahul Gandhi Allotted Government Bungalow after Supreme Court Stay on Conviction

New Delhi – After the Supreme Court stayed the conviction of Rahul Gandhi, he has again been allotted a government bungalow as he became an MP again.

The House Allotment Committee of the Lok Sabha has re-allotted Rahul the old bungalow in Tughlaq Lane. On returning to his old home, Rahul Gandhi said, “All India is my home”.

Last Friday, the Supreme Court stayed Rahul Gandhi’s sentence in an appeal against the Gujarat High Court’s order. Following this, his disqualification was revoked on Monday and he became an MP again. Subsequently, after a gap of 4 months, it is noteworthy that Rahul Gandhi participated in these activities.

Earlier, during the 2019 Lok Sabha election campaign in Karnataka, senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi raised controversy when he said, “How come all thieves are named Modi?” Gujarat BJP MLA Parnesh Modi filed a defamation case in the Surat court, saying that Rahul has insulted the Modi community. Rahul was sentenced to 2 years in prison on March 23 in this case.

Following this, it was announced that Rahul Gandhi was disqualified from the post of MP on March 24. Subsequently, the Lok Sabha Secretariat sent a notice to him asking him to vacate the government bungalow by April 22. On April 4, Rahul Gandhi vacated the government bungalow he was living in until then and handed over the keys to the rightful people.

Rahul Gandhi has been a Member of Parliament since 2004. He was the Member of Parliament from the Amethi constituency from 2004 to 2019 and was the Member of Parliament from the Wayanad constituency from 2029. It is noteworthy that house number 12 on Tughlaq Road in Delhi was allotted to him.
