Rocamadour has been singled out since the Airbus Christmas meal which turned into a fiasco on December 14 in Montoir (Loire-Atlantique). But the little cheese finally seems to be exonerated. While 700 people suffered from nausea and diarrhea after the festive lunch with colleagues, the Regional Health Agency (ARS) released the conclusions of its investigation, without being able to explain precisely what happened. She points to a probable norovirus rather than a failure in the kitchen.

“In view of the clinical signs presented by the patients and the time taken for symptoms to appear, the preferred hypothesis is a norovirus Tiac (collective food poisoning infection), indicates the ARS. This is a virus responsible for gastroenteritis. Transmission is usually person-to-person, through hands, but transmission through food is also possible. »

No non-compliance in the kitchens

Very contagious colleague? Contaminated food? Difficult, therefore, to understand exactly to the extent that “the analyzes carried out on the food remains came back negative”.

For its part, Airbus adds that the survey carried out in the kitchens of the company restaurant did not “highlight any non-compliance”. “If norovirus is strongly suspected as being responsible for this collective food poisoning, it cannot be confirmed with certainty,” concludes the ARS.
