The survivor, who himself got out of the Listvyazhnaya mine in the Kemerovo region, turned out to be a rescuer. Alexander Zakovryashin spent the whole night underground, ascended to the surface on his own and gave a signal for help. Acting head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Alexander Chupriyan called the incident a miracle. He explained that the mine rescuer was found during reconnaissance at the emergency mine. He was hospitalized with carbon monoxide poisoning and hypothermia.
Thus, 51 people became victims of the incident on Listvyazhnaya. As Alexander Chupriyan explained, now the main task of the rescuers is to lift the bodies of the dead. According to him, initial air samples in the mine show that the situation inside will continue to deteriorate. There is almost no chance of finding someone else alive, explained the Governor of the Kemerovo Region Sergei Tsivilev:
“I think that we will find no one else. What happened is already a great miracle, because in the explosion, most died immediately on the spot. Today we returned from our miners’ health center, talked with the guys who are recovering there. They talked about the heroes who, in the first minutes after the explosion, ran into the mine and pulled out their friends. This is the time when the maximum number of people can be saved. “
On November 25, at the Listvyazhnaya mine in the Kemerovo Region, heavy smoke arose, which could have been caused by a methane explosion. At that time, there were about 280 miners, most of them were able to get to the surface. The prosecutor’s office notes that some miners have previously complained about high levels of methane in the air. The wife of one of the victims told RIA Novosti that the gas concentration reached 6%, which is why the sensors squeaked, which were moistened with water. On November 15, the miners extinguished the fire on their own.
The management was aware of the conditions in which the miners had to work, a relative of one of the survivors told the local publication Sib.fm about this: “There was an explosion in the mine, and we have a relative working there, Chaikin Vladimir. We tried to call him, but we didn’t pick up the phone. It was supposed to come out at 8:30, but it never came out. Then I went there myself. They said to expect any information. The director came out and suggested that everyone get on the bus. The man began to be indignant about why the employees were allowed to work, if yesterday it was known that there is 8% methane there. To this he simply kept silent, lowered his eyes, he was ashamed, perhaps, it became. They took our relative out, sent him by helicopter to the hospital in Kemerovo. “
Two inspectors of Rostekhnadzor have already been detained, who checked the mine a week before the incident. A criminal case of negligence was opened against them.
As part of another case, the leadership of Listvyazhnaya was detained, said the correspondent of Kommersant in the Kemerovo region, Nina Obelunas:
“According to the regional governor, in order to continue the search, the level of methane in the mine workings needs to rise to 20%, only after that the headquarters will make an appropriate decision. Six mines, which are located in the Kemerovo region, were checked, violations related to industrial safety were found there, in particular, as indicated by the prosecutor’s office, the work and rest regime, the lack of personal protective equipment among workers. Also, violations of the requirements were found during the production of safety briefings. As a result, the prosecutor’s office opened 28 administrative cases.
So far, the preliminary reason for what happened is the explosion of the methane-air mixture. It happened in the ventilation drift No. 823. According to the Unified Register of State Inspections, violations of the fire regime have already been found in it. There were no early warning detectors for fire signs.
Now the management of the mine has been detained, including the manager himself. Sergey Makhrakov became the winner of the regional competition of the coal mining industry “Kuzbass – the coal heart of Russia”. Information is available on the website of the holding, which includes the enterprise “SDS-Ugol”, he won in the nomination “Director of the mine-2021”. The further fate of those detained in a criminal case on violation of security requirements, which resulted in the death of two or more people through negligence, will be decided in the next 48 hours.
Meanwhile, the Investigative Committee indicted five persons involved in the explosion case: the director of the Listvyazhnaya mine, Sergei Makhrakov, his first deputy Andrei Molostov, the head of the site, Sergei Gerasimenko, and Rostekhnadzor inspectors Sergei Vinokurov and Vyacheslav Semykin. Depending on the role of each, they are charged with violation of industrial safety requirements and negligence.
