jpnn.comPALEMBANG – Yanto (48), a resident of Jalan Pelita Gang Ali Akib, Kemuning District, Palembang drowned in the Borang River, Sako Borang District, Palembang, Thursday (11/4) at around 18.30 WIB.

The chronology of the incident began when the victim was drunk and left home on a motorbike to the Satu Borang bridge intending to relax.

While on the bridge, the victim fell into the river and was swept away by the strong current, causing the victim to drown.

Head of the Palembang Basarnas Office, Raymond Konstantin, accompanied by his Head of Operations, Manca Rahwanto, explained that currently his party has ordered a rescue team of six people, complete with water SAR equipment, to go to the location of the incident to search for victims.

“This is the second day of the search, where the search process started at 07.00 am together with the Joint SAR Team consisting of Basarnas Palembang, Fire and Rescue, Sako Police, PMI and the Community,” explained Raymond, Friday (12/4).

“The search was carried out by dividing the joint SAR team into two SRUs. SRU 1 carried out the search by searching the water surface using rubber boats, community boats and also using drones,” continued Raymond.

“Meanwhile, SRU 2 will carry out dives at the initial location of the incident as well as locations where there are suspected victims. Hopefully, with the various efforts we have made, the victim can be found soon,” hoped Raymond.(mcr35/jpnn)
