Stockholm: Swedish start-up Klarna has fired about 700 people by sending video messages to its employees.

Clarna is a start-up based in Stockholm, Sweden. The company, which provides financial technology services, was launched in 2005. It has now laid off 10 percent of its employees. That’s 10 percent of the total 7000 employees. The announcement was made by the company’s CEO Sebastian Simiatkovsky.

Companies that are typically laid off must inform employees in advance. This practice is global. This arrangement is for the benefit of the worker. Dismissal notices are usually sent by email. However, Clarna sent a pre-recorded video to staff.

In the video, Sebastien announces layoffs, citing the war between Ukraine and Russia, inflation, the economic situation, and changes among customers.
