The Swedish authorities have decided to lift restrictions on entry from abroad. Starting February 9, tourists from Northern Europe, the European Union and the European Economic Area will be able to freely enter the country. They no longer need to issue covid-passports, indicating a past illness or passing a full course of vaccination. For travelers from all over the world, Sweden will open on March 31st.

Both dates coincide with the stages of lifting restrictions within the country. As schengenvisainfo.com notes, most of the restrictions will be lifted on February 9th. This is facilitated by a stable epidemiological situation and a high level of vaccination of the population (more than 83 percent). Residents of Sweden and tourists will no longer have to present their vaccination certificate at the entrance to various places: bars, restaurants, shopping centers, public transport. The restriction on the number of people who can be in the room at the same time is canceled.

As expected, the remaining restrictions will be lifted from April 1, provided that the country does not register elevated rates of coronavirus infection.
