Weapons Smuggling and Intercepted Mail at Arlanda
According to customs declarations on the parcel, the shipment supposedly contained an English dictionary. When customs officials inspected the package at Arlanda airport, they discovered two licensable pistol frames hidden inside. That interception triggered an immediate preliminary investigation into weapons smuggling.
Investigators soon uncovered a broader pattern of illegal procurement. During the subsequent winter months, the man ordered metal pipes, electrical wires, steel balls, and priming bullets through online retail platforms like Amazon. Prosecutor files detail how he used these materials to construct three pipe bombs inside his apartment. As the manufacturing operation expanded, law enforcement secured authorization to place his telephone under wiretap surveillance.
AI Consultations and Semi-Automatic Rifle Research
Throughout his preparations, the student maintained an active correspondence with artificial intelligence tools. Beginning in the summer of 2025, he queried ChatGPT regarding foreign weapons licenses and cryptocurrency before drafting schematics for an explosive device featuring an offshoot-triggered blast mechanism.
As the investigation progressed, the dialogue with the AI shifted toward specific firearm specifications. The man asked for reliable semi-automatic rifles resembling an AK-47 or AR-15, as well as sniper-style weapons and licensing procedures for handguns. Investigators noted that the suggested firearm matched the primary weapon type used by Rickard Andersson during the Campus Risbergska mass shooting.
Apartment Raid and Extremist Materials Discovered
Police arrested the student roughly three weeks after intercepting the smuggled pistol frames. A subsequent search of his residence yielded three completed pipe bombs, walkie-talkies, a machete, weapon magazines, and a knife engraved with an Odal rune—a symbol that matched a tattoo on the man’s arm.
Electronic devices seized during the raid contained explicit extremist content. Investigators found Nazi literature alongside video footage showing the student and his romantic partner performing Hitler salutes.
