Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation to Azerbaijan Thomas Stehlin visited the Baku International Sea Trade Port (BISTP) on February 12, Day.Az reported on Monday with reference to the BISTP.
“Recently, the volume of cargo transportation from Asia to Switzerland passing through the port of Baku has increased. If in 2022 this figure was 146,755 tons, then in 2023 it increased to 551,074 tons,” the report says.
At the meeting of the Ambassador with the General Director of the port, Taleh Ziyadov, current and future areas of cooperation were discussed, including a potential partnership with the Swiss Cooperation Program for 2022-2025.
The parties discussed the strategic role of the BMSCP within the Middle Corridor for continuous regional communication, as well as progress in introducing sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions in port activities.
