Hanover, Düsseldorf His word is increasingly worthless, his current account catastrophic. Wilfried Hüser, shareholder and member of the supervisory board of the medical company Syntellix, takes a hard stance on its CEO Utz Claassen. In a letter dated August 15, Hüser writes that Syntellix fails to pay its bills, breaks promises and fails to comply with legal regulations. Hüser: “We have to tackle this problem immediately and cannot allow ourselves to be drawn into a ‘second Wirecard’.”
The scolding hits one of the once best-known heads of German business. Utz Claassen managed the finances of Seat, then the pharmaceutical supplier Sartorius and from 2003 to 2007 the energy supplier EnBW. Claassen taught at the University of Hanover and wrote books in which he sharply criticized politics and business. One credo: mismanagement must not be rewarded.
