Syria: “Surviving is difficult”

One week after the magnitude 7.8 and 7.5 earthquakes that hit southern Turkey and northern Syria, causing more than 40,000 deaths on both sides, humanitarian aid is trickling in. The warning comes from the Portuguese nun, Maria Lúcia Ferreira, who lives in the monastery of São Tiago Mutilado, Qara, north of the capital, Damascus, who describes a scenario of destruction in a State with many difficulties in providing help to the victims.
