Atlanta rapper T.I. responded to criticism from 50 Cent on Saturday, February 7, asserting he isn’t intimidated by scrutiny of his past as he promotes new music.
A Verzuz Battle Seems Unlikely
The back-and-forth between the two artists escalated after T.I. suggested he could win a Verzuz challenge against 50 Cent.
- T.I. shared a video of himself rapping while surrounded by family.
- 50 Cent responded by posting a clip of T.I. testifying in court.
- The exchange casts doubt on the possibility of a Verzuz battle.
T.I. posted a video on Instagram of himself rapping along to his track “Let Em’ Know” while enjoying dinner with his family. The post was a direct response to 50 Cent’s recent jabs. “@50cent I don’t fear my past I’m too focused on the future. Top 20 in 2 weeks & climbing. Now #LetemKnow THAT👑!!! I’m LOVED not LIKED. #MyGodDontPlayBoutMe,” he wrote in the caption.
Earlier that day, 50 Cent shared a video appearing to show T.I. testifying in court. In the clip, T.I. identifies a deceased man named Phil and recounts informing the man’s family of his death. “No, no, I don’t like it 🤨No verses, let’s do (The stay away challenge ) and stay away from me. LOL @50centaction,” 50 Cent wrote.
The exchange began after T.I. hinted at a potential Verzuz battle. Prior to the court footage, 50 Cent shared a video of T.I. in a promotional advertisement for Crime Stoppers Atlanta, writing, “I know Atlanta pick and choose who they support, but 😆yall gotta do better. LOL 😆keep my name out ya mouth ! @bransoncognac.”
What is a Verzuz battle? A Verzuz battle is a live-streamed, head-to-head musical competition between two artists, where they take turns playing their hits.
The escalating tension suggests a Verzuz battle between the two artists is unlikely to happen in the near future.
