Strengthening the Compulsory Solid Waste Management Association of the Administrative Unit of the Epirus Region is the goal of the elected vice-president of the board of directors of the Association, Tatiana Kalogiannis, recognizing the work done by the previous administration.

In her announcement, which is written in a purely personal tone and absent any reference to the elected president of the Association Nikolaos Georgakos, T. Kalogianni warmly thanks those who supported her candidacy and states that every fellow citizen is available to discuss any idea, opinion and proposal can contribute to the productive operation of the association and to the extent of its powers to support it in the decision-making bodies.
“The Regional Association is a conquest of the self-government of the A’ degree of the Epirus region, for which many worked hard. Personally, I worked during the period 2011–2019 intensively to achieve rational waste management at the regional level, within the framework of my responsibilities as the competent deputy governor. In summary, I mention the restoration of the landfills, the expansion of the landfills, the securing of the financing of the composting units, the study, financing and tendering of the SMAs and above all the construction and operation of the waste processing plant. These are known to all and need no further mention.
The omens were and remain favorable for the development of waste management (both at municipal and regional level), in accordance with the European framework. I believe that strengthening the institution of the regional association is absolutely necessary.
In the period 2019-2023, voices and opinions were heard, but also behaviors were recorded, which sought to weaken the regional association and transform the management model into something different, but I must note that the outgoing management and administration of the association produced positive work in a difficult period and now the association is in a state of stability and tranquility, and staffed with experienced and valuable staff. Thus, he can now seamlessly plan his next steps”, she notes characteristically in her statement.
