Tabakalera starts closing Mondays tomorrow to save energy

by time news

From now on this day of the week only the cafeteria on the 0th floor will remain open and with access at street level

This Monday will be the first in which the Tabakalera International Center for Contemporary Culture will be completely closed to the public. In addition, from now on it will open its doors an hour later on Tuesdays. The only exception is the cafeteria located on floor 0 and with access at street level, which will continue with its normal hours.

Tabakalera explained that this decision is aimed at “saving energy, and is part of the battery of measures that have been adopted in recent months, which also include modifications related to lighting and air conditioning in the building”

Tabakalera recalled that since it opened in 2015, the exhibition halls, the cinema and the Medialab have remained closed on Mondays, and it has offered the main programming from Tuesday to Sunday. As of 2023, the rest of the building will also remain closed to the public with the exception of the cafeteria. Likewise, and with the same objective of energy efficiency, the opening hours will be delayed by one hour. Thus, from Tuesday to Friday the Tabakalera opening hours will be from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and on Sundays and holidays from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
