Taean-gun is taking steps to attract urban residents to return to rural areas. Taean-gun directly visits city residents to attract people who return to farming or rural areas.
The county announced that it will participate in the ‘2024 Smart Return to Farm and Village Youth Entrepreneurship Expo’ held at the ‘Suwon Convention Center’ in Yeongtong-gu, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do from the 19th to the 21st to promote its own return to farming and village projects and actively attract city residents.
According to the Taean-gun Agricultural Technology Center, this expo is co-hosted by NH Nonghyup and Yonhap News as an event to overcome the crisis of regional extinction and support the attraction of returning to farming and rural areas.
The county plans to set up a counseling booth for three days to provide customized counseling to inform Taean-gun’s policies to young people and city residents who wish to return to farming or rural areas. In addition to exhibiting Taean’s representative agricultural products and processed products, the county plans to promote major tourist attractions and youth policies.
In particular, we plan to actively promote the ‘1st Taean-gun Return to Farming School’ scheduled to be held in May to help prospective farmers who dream of returning to farming or rural areas to successfully settle in, and we have decided to actively participate in three additional farming and rural expositions scheduled this year to encourage urban residents. The plan is to accelerate recruitment.
A military official said, “We will continue to provide customized information for each situation so that prospective farmers and those returning to rural areas can plan a bright future in Taean,” and added, “We will lead the way in revitalizing rural areas through population influx by encouraging stable return to farming.”
Meanwhile, Taean-gun provides support for returning farmers to farming and rural areas, including △Support for agricultural start-ups and home purchases for returning farmers, △Technical education for new farmers to settle down in farming, △On-site farming education for returning farmers, △On-site mentoring training for returning farmers, △Taean-gun returning to farming school, and △Operation of mentor training for returning farmers and returning villages. It is receiving a great response by promoting various projects for people, and last year, it ranked second in the country and first in the province in the performance evaluation of support for attracting people to return to rural areas, and received a commendation from the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.
