‘Take off the tailored coat, don’t tell now what will happen in four years’; Chennithala with criticism

Thiruvananthapuram: Senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala indirectly criticized Shashi Tharoor. Chennithala’s remark was that we should not say now what will happen after four years and if someone has sewn the coat, it may come off. He also asked them to try to win the parliamentary elections.

“There is no need for anyone to say that he will be today four years from now. What will happen in Kerala and India after four years is pointless to say here now. Therefore, if anyone has sewn a coat, there is a request to take off all those coats and come forward to win the party in the parliamentary elections,’ said Chennithala.

Leaders including K Muralidharan and KC Venugopal came forward against the statements of MPs including Tharoor. K Muralidharan’s response was that the party’s candidates should be decided by the high command. We should think about the upcoming Lokbha elections. K Muraleedharan said that if he does not win the Lok Sabha elections, he will not have to think about the assembly elections. KC Venugopal also said that whatever he has to say, he should say it in the party. KPCC convened thrice in a month. KC Venugopal responded that the Congressmen should not let what they say to each other become a discussion.

Meanwhile, Shashi Tharoor said that he has not declared his candidacy for Chief Minister. The statement that he is ready to become the Chief Minister should not be controversial. When asked whether he was interested in becoming the chief minister, he only said yes. Tharoor said that it is up to the party and the people to take a decision in this regard. Assembly elections are in 2026. “There is no need to discuss this before that,” he said. Tharoor’s reaction was while speaking to the media after meeting Geoffrey Muthukoya at the Samasta headquarters.
