Chennai: Tamil actress Kasammal (71) died after being beaten by her son. Kasammal is famous for the film ‘Kadaisi Ishvadhini’ which won the National Award. Police arrested their son P. Namakodi (52) in the incident. The incident took place in Anayur near Usilampatti in Madurai district.
Kasammal was brutally beaten by his son during an argument over money to buy liquor. Police said they died on the spot. Kasammal and her husband Balasamy have three children including Namakodi. Namakodi was living with his parents after a fight with his wife
The 2021 release ‘Kadaisi Iashyani’ (The Last Farmer) is a film starring Vijay Sethupathi and 85-year-old Nallandi.
