Tamil Nadu Government Announces Rs. 6,000 Relief for Flood Affected Families

Chennai, December 17: The Tamil Nadu government has announced a relief scheme of Rs. 6,000 for families affected by the recent floods caused by the Mikjam storm. According to a press release issued by the government, the relief amount will be distributed door to door through tokens.

In a statement, the government announced that families in the flood-affected areas will receive Rs. 6,000 as relief. Tokens are currently being distributed to eligible families, and those who receive the tokens can collect the relief amount from specified fair price shops on designated dates and times.

However, there have been concerns raised by the public about the availability of the relief tokens. The government has assured that flood-affected families who do not have a family card and do not have access to relief tokens can obtain and submit the appropriate form from fair price shops.

To inaugurate the relief scheme, Chief Minister Stalin visited a fair price shop in Ashtalakshmi Nagar, Velachery, Chennai, and distributed the relief amount to the affected families. The government has also announced that in the coming days, compensation amounts and forms will be provided at fair price shops from 9 am to 1 pm and from 2 pm to 5 pm.

To address any complaints or issues related to the relief scheme, a control room will be functioning from 8 am to 8 pm at the office of the Principal Secretary/Commissioner, Department of Food Supply and Consumer Protection, Chepakkam, Chennai. Additionally, the public can contact the government through the helpline numbers 044-2859 2828 and 1100.

The government has emphasized that the relief amount should be provided to the public without any complaints, and any issues should be immediately brought to the attention of the concerned officers and resolved.
