New Delhi: “Strict action will be taken to prevent obscenity and abuse on OTT platforms,” Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur has said.

Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Anurag Thakur, in a video posted on social media today (March 19) said:

In the name of creativity, foul language and uncivil behavior will not be tolerated. Complaints to the government about increasing obscene content on OTD sites are being actively monitored.
On ODD platforms, producers themselves should come forward in the first instance to redress complaints. Almost 90 percent of complaints are resolved at the first stage. The next step is to eliminate complaints from the entire crew. In spite of this, if complaints are brought to the attention of the government, strict action is taken. However, complaints have increased over the past few days.
