Jiva Park was opened by former Chief Minister Kamaraj 50 years ago on Thiruvottiyur Highway, Thandaiyarpet, Thandaiyarpet.
This park, rich in history, was in a state of disrepair and could not be used by the public.
Following the demand of the people of the area to rehabilitate the park, the renovation work was done in the park at a cost of 92 lakh rupees from North Chennai MP.
In it, paintings have been drawn on Kurinji, Mullai, Marutham weaving, and dairy land to attract visitors to the park.
‘Cartoon’ pictures, animals including butterfly, elephant, rabbit, giraffe and fantasy paintings are realistically drawn. More than 100 plants have been planted around the park.
Jiva Park was inaugurated yesterday by RK Nagar MLA, Ebenezer, MP, Kalanidhi under the leadership of Senior Communist Party of India leader Nallakannu, State Secretary Mutharasan.
