An inspection in the St. Petersburg MDT is being conducted due to a citizen’s complaint to the prosecutor’s office
The audit of the St. Petersburg “Academic Maly Drama Theater – Theater of Europe”, during which the entrance to the building was sealed, and the performances were canceled until May 12, is due to a complaint from a certain citizen to the prosecutor’s office. This is reported by TASS with reference to a source in law enforcement agencies.
“The check was carried out at the request of a citizen to the prosecutor’s office,” the source said.
He confirmed earlier information that the Ministry of Emergency Situations and Rospotrebnadzor were involved in the check. The source added that the regional department of Rospotrebnadzor recorded “numerous violations of the law”, in connection with which a protocol was drawn up to ban the theater from May 5.
The theater previously stated that tickets for performances on May 6-12 can be returned to the box office.
In April, it became known that performances were postponed to the end of May, in which the actor Danila Kozlovsky was involved, whom social activist Vitaly Borodin had previously complained about, accusing him of unpatriotism and criticism of the SVO. According to some reports, next week the court may decide to suspend the theater for up to 90 days.
