Over, over, over – but with a reconciliatory end for Heike Makatsch (52) as a “crime scene” investigator. A connection that never really felt like screen love…

After the “Out of the Dark” case, you would like to take a closer look behind every curtain to see if there aren’t cameras tracking you somewhere. Because: It was a thriller “crime scene” about a dangerous stalker who psychologically harasses his victims beyond the limits of what is bearable.

BILD answers the most important questions about the case.

Why was “Stalker” Matthias Lier’s (44) game so impressive?

The actor processed experiences from his family environment during filming. Lier to BILD: “As I was preparing for the role, someone in my family confessed to me that he had been stalked for over a year.”

Who was affected?

Lier: “It was my cousin. There were calls, he wrote letters, made counter-complaints. He became very creative to combat his loneliness. This went on for a year, psychological terror. The police said back then, 15 years ago: We can’t do anything, nothing happened! When I heard that, the hairs on the back of my neck stood up. I got so angry at that person. At some point my cousin also confessed to me that she had recorded the last phone call with the stalker. The conversation was 30 minutes long.”

This conversation was then used to research the crime novel.

Which classic do the scenes with video surveillance remind you of?

The stalker observes his victims via cameras in the “crime scene”. Here the makers of “Tatort” relied on a classic from early 90s cinema: “Sliver”. The plot: The attractive editor Carly Norris (played by Sharon Stone) moves into a high-rise building in Manhattan. Its owner, Zeke Hawkins (William Baldwin), secretly observes the goings-on in his tenants’ apartments via several screens. Carly begins an affair with Zeke – and gets caught up in a whirlpool of sex, voyeurism and death.

How did people know “Polina”?

In the current “Tatort” “Polina” – or rather: actress Anastasia Papadopoulou (46) – was an eye-catcher. And will remain so for crime fans in the coming weeks. However, in a different series and on a different channel.

Papadopoulou will be joining the 23rd season of the cult series “Rosenheim Cops”, the new forensic doctor “Dr. Elena Dimos”. Due to her new role in the series competition, future “Tatort” appearances as a guest will be more difficult for her.

Was that definitely it for Heike Makatsch as Commissioner “Ellen Berlinger”?

According to BILD information, not necessarily. After five episodes as an investigator in the past seven years, the permanent “crime scene” with Makatsch on SWR is history, but there is still the possibility that the actress will appear as a guest on another team or a special “crime scene”. The last, more crazy variant of the crime thriller brought together a whole troupe of “Tatort” actors (including Jörg Hartmann and Anna Schudt) on January 1, 2020.

The episode was used to show a spectacular exit from Münster investigator Friederike Kempter: she was murdered. According to BILD information, Makatsch is said to have not ruled out taking up her role again in the event of an interesting implementation opportunity.
