Don Stoeckel, an environmental microbiologist and associate at the Produce Safety Alliance, highlighted the challenges of detecting Cyclospora in food samples. Almost always it’s too late because the food has already spoiled or has been eaten,

Taco Bell’s Response and Consumer Warnings
Taco Bell announced on Saturday that it had removed all Taylor Farms lettuce from its U.S. restaurants amid the outbreak. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) confirmed over 1,600 cases in Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and West Virginia as of Saturday, with no deaths reported. The agency urged consumers to avoid the recalled product.
