The vehicle’s owner, a man in his 20s, was a passenger in the car at the time of the incident. He is now being investigated for aiding and abetting the unlicensed driver, according to police reports. He is suspected of allowing the teen to operate the vehicle.
“The driver was a young man of 16 years who thus did not have a driver’s license,” stated operations leader Lise Bjørnsund in a police log entry. The vehicle has been impounded, effectively removing it from the road.
