Judge Santiago Pedraz of the National Court of Justice ordered the suspension of the Telegram messaging app in Spain as a measure to secure the claim. This was reported by the Europa Press agency, citing legal sources, Day.Az reports with reference to TASS.
According to him, the court’s ruling is related to a lawsuit filed by media companies Mediaset, Atresmedia and Movistar Plus over the alleged unauthorized use of audiovisual content protected by copyright. Pedraz made the decision as part of a request for precautionary measures that the companies insisted on so that the messenger’s activities in Spain were paralyzed while the investigation was carried out.
According to the agency, the judge ordered Telegram to be temporarily blocked because he did not receive a response to the requested information.
For now, the messenger is still working in Spain.
