Temporary Natural Gas Service Outage in Beaver County: What You Need to Know

by time news

Approximately 4,000 Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania customers in Beaver County are currently without natural gas service. The outage was executed by Columbia Gas as a safety precaution after technicians discovered an issue with the natural gas supplied by a third-party upstream supplier. The company released a statement on Sunday, explaining the situation and assuring residents that the issue was not intentional.

The shutdown and restoration process is expected to take several days according to the gas company. Columbia Gas technicians have begun shutting off all gas meters in the affected area. Once this process is completed, they will restore the flow of natural gas into the system and conduct door-to-door safety checks. They will also relight natural gas appliances in each home.

Customers who are not home during the service restoration process will find a door hanger at their residence, notifying them of the outage and requesting them to contact Columbia Gas at 1-888-460-4332. A service technician will then be dispatched to restore gas service.

A full list of streets impacted by the outage can be found on the Columbia Gas website.

Residents in the Baden, Conway, Economy, and Freedom communities are urged to stay patient during this time and prioritize their safety by following the instructions and guidelines provided by Columbia Gas.
