After the island games, it’s time for the ballot box games. The submission of candidacies for the first round of the presidential election on November 9 will be closed on September 6. Until Saturday afternoon, 10 candidates submitted their application files to the High Constitutional Court (HCC) in Ambohidahy.
They are Marc Ravalomanana (TIM), Annick Ratsiraka Zoary (Arema), Vololonirina Marie Josiane (Indépendant), Paraina Auguste (Tsara Tahafina), Razafintsiandroofa Jean Brunelle (APM), Masy Goulamaly (My role is to develop Madagascar- AMM), Jean Noel Abel (Indépendant), Rasolofonoroniaina Julia Mickaëlle (Andry Fanavotana ani Madagasikar-AFM), Siteny Randrianasoloniaiko (Coalition of the PSD party and others), Ratsietison Jean Jacques Jedidia (Fahefa-Mividy na lailain Malagasy-FMF ).
Other potential candidates who have officially announced their candidacies are expected in Ambohidahy in the coming days. Among them Hajo Andrianainarivelo, Tahina Razafinjoelina, Rolland Ratsiraka, Andry Raobelina, Lalaina Ratsirahonana and former president Hery Rajaonarimampianina. The announcement of the candidacy of current president Andry Rajoelina to run for a second term should also be made official today or tomorrow during the national congress of the TGV party at the CCI-Ivato.
