New scandal surrounding Luis Rubiales after his resignation as president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation after FIFA disqualified him and world sport attacked him for his non-consensual kiss with Jenni Hermoso.

According to ‘El Mundo’, the man from Motril persuaded FC Barcelona with money to agree to play the Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia.

The former president deceived the club through its former CEO, Óscar Grau, to whom he wrote three days after signing with the country.

“I hope you are happy to guarantee between 6, 7 and 8 million for your club,” he wrote.

Grau attacked the ‘gesture’: “I want to congratulate you on the change of format, since it is good for the promotion of Spanish football, for its dissemination and, also, beneficial for the participating clubs.”

“We are waiting for future details to plan the activity well. Likewise, you will send us the draft contract to review it and proceed to the signing,” he added.

What Rubiales did not tell the Barça leadership is that Gerard Piqué, then a Blaugrana player, would pocket 24 million euros in commissions for ‘help’ to the “presi”.

For the moment, in addition to the two interviews he has offered, the only public statement that Rubiales has made has been to put up for sale the luxury penthouse that he bought with the help of the Federation.
