In very good form, Novak Djokovic will be keen to conclude its exceptional year 2023 by a victory at the Masters in Turin, he who has already won six tournaments this season, including three Grand Slams. He will be facing seven “youngsters”, all hungry and eager to bring down the legend, co-owner with Federer of the number of Masters won with six titles.

If successful, “Djoko” could become the first tennis player to finish eight years at the top of the ATP rankings and the first to occupy the top spot for 400 weeks.

The eight participants in the Masters are the eight best players in “The Race” ranking, that is to say the ranking for the year 2023, different from the ATP ranking, sliding over twelve months. Thus, although seventh in the ATP before the tournament, the Norwegian Casper Ruud will not be in the game. Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, Jannik Sinner, Andrey Rublev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Zverev and Holger Rune are therefore participating in the Masters.

Among all these beautiful people, we find three other former winners of the event: Tsitsipas in 2019, Medvedev in 2020 and Zverev in 2018 and 2021.

These eight players are divided into two groups. The draw determined that in the “green” group Djokovic, Sinner, Tsitsipas and Rune will compete while Alcaraz, Medvedev, Rublev and Zverev will be in the “red” group. At the end of the group stage, the top two in each group qualify for the semi-finals. The winner of group A faces the runner-up in group B, and vice versa.

A sum which will increase to 4.8 million dollars if he wins all his matches: the three group matches, his semi-final and the final. The eight competing players are guaranteed to receive $325,500 if they play their three group matches.
