The tennis department held its annual general meeting on February 11th at the sports center, reviewing a year of activity and planning for the future.

Department Reflects on 2024, Looks Ahead to Expanded Training

The tennis department outlined its 2024 achievements and confirmed plans for continued training programs in 2025.

Department head Markus Otto provided a comprehensive review of 2024, highlighting the tennis training initiatives for both children and adults. A total of 10 adults actively participated in the training sessions. The department confirmed that training opportunities will be available again in 2025, building on the momentum of the previous year.

Winter months saw dedicated training organized for children at the South Sports Center. The department extended gratitude to the city administration for their assistance in securing a suitable time slot in the early afternoon, facilitating participation.

Looking ahead, the department plans to continue preparing the tennis courts independently in 2025, a strategy that has proven successful over the past two years. This self-sufficiency allows for greater control over quality and scheduling.

Andreas Könecke, alongside Marcel Labonte, reviewed the cash register and subsequently proposed the discharge of the board. The motion was approved by those in attendance. Following this, elections were held, resulting in the unanimous confirmation of the existing board members.

Meeting Agenda Highlights

The general meeting followed a structured agenda, including the opening of the meeting, determining the number of members present, and approving both the agenda and the minutes from the 2024 meeting. Key items also included the accountability report from the board, a report from the auditors, and the discharge of the board of directors.

Elections were held for several key positions: 2nd Chairman, Secretary, Youth Officer, Sports Officer, and Auditor. Notably, the positions of Secretary, Youth Officer, and Sports Officer were vacant at the time of the meeting.

The meeting also included a discussion of the budget outlook for 2025, consideration of any applications, and a final segment for miscellaneous items.
