Today, the outstanding young Uruguayan soccer players arrived in their homeland from La Plata, Argentina, where they became world champions. Upon arrival at the airport, they set off on a merry bus ride to the Centenario Stadium.
Hundreds of people gathered on a frigid Monday morning at the Carrasco International Airport to receive the Uruguayan U-20 team, just one day after its glorious coronation as world champion.
Although the Uruguayan Football Association had announced that the delegation would depart from Aeroparque at 10:40 am, there were already fans at the air terminal at 10 am, eager to welcome the team led by Marcelo Broli.
In the midst of this exciting journey, an unforgettable surprise awaited the champions: Luis Suárez, a renowned Uruguayan soccer player, traveled especially to Montevideo to accompany and celebrate with the young talents.
