Ghana: A bomb blast in the West African country of Ghana has left 17 people dead. Another truck was carrying explosives to a gold mine in western Ghana when it collided head-on with a two-wheeler in the market area of Opiate. More have been admitted to hospital for treatment.
Rescue operations have been expedited at the scene of the blast. The rescue operation for those trapped in the rubble continues on a wartime basis. It is feared that the death toll could rise as the condition of some of the injured in the blast is worrying. Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo has lamented the tragic death toll from the blast. The devastation caused by the blast in the city of Opiate has sent shockwaves through Ghana.
