Tehran: Terrorists fired at protesters and security forces in Iran’s southwestern Khuzestan province. State media reported on Wednesday that five people were killed in the shooting, citing an unnamed official. Armed militants on two motorcycles reportedly entered a central market in Iseh city and opened fire on protesters and security forces. More than 10 people were injured.

No one has yet claimed responsibility for the shooting. On October 26, at least 13 people were killed in an attack on the Shah Cherag Mausoleum in Shiraz, according to official figures. IS claimed responsibility for the incident. The new developments come as the anti-hijab protest continues in Iran. Several people were killed in the protests that started after the killing of Mahsa Amini, who was arrested for not following Iran’s dress code.
