Raids Haven’t Stopped the Scams
Authorities have conducted several raids in recent years against these sales operations in popular tourist areas. Despite these efforts, the business reportedly continues, especially in busy areas of Pattaya.Local media previously documented similar cases involving several European travelers, including a German engineer and another German tourist who lost 140,000 Baht to suspected herb dealers in November. A young Australian also reported a similar incident that same month.
