Madrid – The Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation ‍ad‍ interim, José Manuel Albares, has stated that ​the 2030 World Cup, awarded to Morocco, Spain, ⁢and Portugal, will “build bridges⁢ between countries and civilizations and promote ​the values of sport.”

“Together with our​ neighbours, Portugal and⁢ Morocco, we‌ will host the 2030 World⁤ Cup. By organising the Cup on two continents⁤ for the first‌ time, Spain, Morocco and Portugal will build bridges and promote the values of sport,” Albares wrote on his X social network account.

A statement from the ⁤Royal Cabinet added that “His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may⁢ God assist​ him, has the great pleasure of announcing to the Moroccan⁢ people that the FIFA Council has just⁢ unanimously⁢ accepted the Morocco-Spain-Portugal file‍ as⁣ the sole candidacy for the organization of ⁣the 2030 Football World ⁢Cup.”

This decision by the Council of the International Football‍ Federation welcomes and⁢ recognizes Morocco’s prominent place in the concert ‌of great nations, the press​ release ​stressed.

“His Majesty the King addresses, on this occasion, His congratulations to the Kingdom of Spain and the Republic of⁢ Portugal, while reiterating the commitment of the Kingdom of Morocco​ to work in perfect synergy with the authorities⁢ in charge of the⁣ file in⁤ each of the host countries,” the press release from the Royal Cabinet​ read.
