The 23rd edition of the national film festival pays tribute to filmmakers Fatema Loukili, Abdelkader Lagtaa and Latif Lahlou

Under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, this edition will also⁢ feature a special tribute to director Latif ⁣Lahlou, the CCM has announced in a press release.

Screenwriter and‌ actress Fatema Loukili is one of the first​ Moroccan‍ female screenwriters to have ⁤achieved notable success. She has collaborated with directors such‌ as Farida Benlyazid and Jilali⁤ Ferhati on several films, including “A Door to Heaven,” “Casablanca Casablanca,” and “Women’s Tricks.”

Loukili is also ⁣known for her work as a journalist ⁣for SNRT and⁢ 2M. She ⁤produced and hosted the first political program on Moroccan television.

Director and screenwriter‌ Abdelkader Lagtaa has written and directed six‍ feature-length fiction films, including “Un amour à Casablanca,” “Les casablancais,” “La ‍porte close,” ⁢”Face à face,” “Yasmine et les hommes,” and “La moitié du ⁢ciel.”

Additionally, a ‌special tribute‌ will be paid to ⁢Latif ⁢Lahlou, a‍ veteran⁣ of Moroccan cinema, with the screening of his restored film “Spring ⁣Sun” (1969).
