In Russia, a major businessman, the head of ICS Holding, Anton Cherepennikov, died suddenly, RBC was told in the company. He was 40 years old.

The preliminary cause of death is cardiac arrest.

Anton Cherepennikov was a member of the board of directors of the USM holding and the telecom operator Megafon, was a co-owner and operating director of YueSeM Telecom. In addition, he was professionally involved in eSports, was a long-term owner of the Virtus.pro club and the founder of the ESforce eSports holding.

Cherepennikov in different years was included in the top of the most successful young entrepreneurs in Russia according to RBC. In 2019 and 2020, the businessman was nominated for the RBC Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

Entrepreneur Anton Cherepennikov created in ICS Holding in 2018. The holding unites about 30 technological companies, including KNS Group (Yadro brand), Bureau 1440 (working on the creation of a satellite constellation), Citadel (creating systems of operational-search activities – special equipment that is installed on communication networks within the framework of the so-called Yarovaya Law and allows the FSB and other law enforcement agencies to analyze what subscribers are talking about and texting), etc.

In 2020-2021, YueSam Telecom was the owner of ICS Holding, 80% of which was owned by Alisher Usmanov’s USM Group. In early 2022, USM sold ICS Holding back to Anton Cherepennikov. The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

The consolidated revenue of ICS Holding in 2022 amounted to 91 billion rubles, the EBITDA indicator was 29 billion rubles, a company representative told RBC. The total amount of development and research costs exceeded 15 billion rubles.

At the end of June, it became known that ICS Holding plans to place bonds in 2024 and then go for an IPO.

Analysts of Technology of Trust (the former Russian division of PwC) by mid-July estimated the investment value of ICS Holding at about 300 billion rubles, a RBC source said. According to him, the holding is discussing the debut placement of bonds and a possible initial public offering (IPO) next year. “Given the characteristics of the current market, the ultimate goal [выпуска облигаций] – sale to individuals. Coupon income, according to banks’ estimates, can reach 10-11%,” he said.
