James Michael Tyler passed away at 59 from cancer

(LaPresse) Actor James Michael Tyler died of prostate cancer at the age of 59. He is best known for his role in ‘Friends’, where he played Gunther. Tyler also appeared in the series ‘Sabrina the Bewitched’ and ‘Just shoot me!’ before appearing in the TV series that made him famous. 33 times Gunther appeared in the series ‘Friends’ without having even a line: then his role started to become more and more central. In 2015, some of the spaces where the series was filmed were recreated, from the Central Perk bar to Monica’s apartment. “It’s amazing, Comedy Central has done an amazing job of recreating everything. I think it’s going to be special for the fans,” Tyler said at the time in London. Gunther’s favorite part was “obviously the orange sofa. They did an amazing job recreating Monica’s apartment, it’s stunning,” the actor explained.
