The program of the Ministry of Economy and Industry started on November 1 “Available to you”. The program covers 7 food groups and 50 in total foods from the small consumer basket, Minister of Economy Bogdan Bogdanov explained to bTV. The idea of the initiative is the commercial chains and also supermarkets in the country, yes are decreasing sensitively every week the prices of two or three products from each group. The choice of the products is up to the traders.
Foods that will be discounted under the Affordable You program will be identifiable by something like a logo that depicts a basket.
For its part, the Ministry of Economy will create a subpage on its website. On it, users will be informed at what value the 50 main products can be found in the various stores. The information will not be direct, there will be links to the merchants’ pages where they announce their promotions.
The “Affordable for you” campaign will continue until the end of May 2024.
Bogdan Bogdanov explained that the reduction in prices will not be at the expense of the purchase prices of fruits and vegetables, milk, meat, bread and grain products and eggs.
