In the last match of the qualifying round of the 2016 European Championship, the Armenian national team lost to the Albanian national team. The match at the “Republican” stadium ended with a score of 0:3.
In the 9th minute, the guests’ midfielder Shkelzen Gashi shot towards the goal guarded by Gevorg Kasparov, Kamo Hovhannisyan tried to remove the ball from the goal line, but failed, and Hovhannisyan scored a goal.
In the 23rd minute, after the penalty kick of the Albanian national team, Berat Jimshiti and Robert Arzumanyan put the ball in the goal of our national team for the second time. The statistical department of UEFA recorded that goal in Jimshiti’s asset. The teams went to the break with a score of 0:2, and in the second half, in the 76th minute, Armando Sadiko made the advantage of the Albanians even bigger.
Thus, the Albanian national team scored 14 points in the qualifying round of Euro-2016, took the second place in the standings of Group I and got the opportunity to participate in the tournament to be held in France. The national team of Armenia scored only 2 points in this qualifying round and took the last place in the group.
