Four medals and several participations in the finals were the results of the students of the schools of Ioannina in the Panhellenic School Athletics Championship, held in Serres on April 22-23.


Philippos Siomos-Gizas won a gold medal in the 2,000 m steeplechase, setting a new pan-Hellenic school record with a time of 5.49.12.
Zoi Rapti also won a gold medal in the triple jump with a performance of 12.92, reaching the limit for the World U20 Championship, a silver medal was won by Giorgos Tassioulas in the 1,500 m, while the bronze medal was won by Magda Malatou in the long jump.
Fourth place for Jason Siozos in the 400m hurdles with a performance of 55’53”, which is the limit for the U18 European Championship, seventh place for Markos Kostopoulos in the 400m and Grigoris Raptis in the triple jump, eighth place for Thomas Anastasis in the long jump and Stavroula Papadopoulou in the 3,000 meters, ninth place for Evangelos Oikonomou in the 200 m and Konstantina Vardakis in the high jump and 11th place for Niki Lianou in the 100 m and Iliana Papachristou in the 1,500 m.
The Directorate of Secondary Education congratulates the students who participated, competed and distinguished themselves in the Panhellenic School Athletics Championship. “With their constant effort and dedication to sports, they managed to star and win the title of champion.
